Easy Witches Hat Napkin Tutorial

If you’re looking for a simple way to add a little magic to your table this season, a folded linen napkin can do the trick.

With just a few easy folds, you can transform an ordinary square into a festive witches hat… perfect for Halloween dinners, parties, or even a playful October brunch.

What You’ll Need

• One square napkin (we used a 16" linen napkin, but any size will work)

• A flat surface to fold on

How to Fold a Witches Hat Napkin

1. Start flat
   Lay your napkin flat on the table.

2. Fold in half
   Bring one edge over to meet the opposite edge. Crease the fold with your finger to keep it neat.

3. Create angled folds
   Place a finger at the center point along the folded edge. Then, working from that center, fold the napkin in at about 3-inch sections, angling each one slightly so the napkin begins to take on a conical shape.

4. Shape the cone
   Once you’ve worked your way around, set the napkin upright so it looks like a cone.

5. Form the base
   From inside the cone, fold the shortest edges outward, all the way around. This creates the base of the hat.

6. Add the brim
   Fold down the corners around the bottom edge to give it the look of a hat brim. Adjust and fluff until it looks just right.

And that’s it … you’ve got a charming little witches hat made entirely from a napkin.
